Coming July 2010
Termite Parade is the second novel from San Francisco Chronicle best-selling author, Joshua Mohr,
a mature look at the honest side of human interaction.
Termite Parade tells the story of Derek, an auto mechanic (whose body may or may not be infested with
actual termites) as well as his girlfriend, Mired. When Derek loses his cool carrying her up the stairs
to their apartment, he drops her, only she's too drunk to remember what happened and blames herself
for her missing teeth.
But Derek does remember, as does his estranged twin, Frank, who he brings in to help sponge up
the emergency's mess. As Derek's termites wreak havoc on his nervous system, Mired pieces together the
puzzle, each character revealing aspects of their savage natures, culminating in a climax of pure
animal chaos.
Along the way, there's a moustached softball team of misanthropes, Mired's catalogue of ex-boyfriends that
she calls her Mt. Rushmore of Male Failures, and armed robberies videotaped for vicarious thrills. Termite
Parade tosses the concepts of guilt, responsibility, and self-preservation under a microscope and then
throws the whole shebang into a blender, spinning an imaginative tale as only Joshua Mohr can do.

"Joshua Mohr's Termite Parade takes the reader to precincts of the human psyche that even Celine
would have thought twice about visiting. This is bold, chilling stuff. Hubert Selby, Jr. would have
been proud."
-John Wray
"Joshua Mohr is one of the most fearless writers working today. His chief pursuit is the truth, and in
his journey we learn a little bit more about our own."
-Amy Koppelman
Praise for Some Things That Meant the World to Me:
#8 of 10 Terrific Reads of 2009
"Meet Rhonda, a man who spends his haunted, liquor-fueled days Dumpster diving for redemption. With his first
line—"I'd like to brag about the night I saved a hooker's life"—debut writer Joshua Mohr sucks you into
Some Things That Meant the World to Me. Charles Bukowski fans will dig the grit in this seedy novel,
a poetic rendering of postmodern San Francisco culminating in, of all places, Home Depot."
